There are so many different ways you can express your love and gratitude for that special someone, here are some of our tips and tricks.
When it comes to showing a person you care about them, the best way to keep it small and simple, not “go big or go home.”
“I think it’s okay to buy small gifts,” Pearl Choe said, who is a student at Fullerton College, “It can a small bouquet of flowers, chocolates, tickets to see a show or giving a heart-felt card.”
Another tip is to plan ahead because restaurants can get crowded quickly. Do make reservations ahead of time, don’t wing it.
“My boyfriend and I are already making plans for V-day,” Stacy Lewitt said, Psychology major. ” Ever since last year we decided that if we want to go out, we have to plan ahead or be doomed waiting for a crowded place all night.”
Finally, make sure to be present. With technology taking over our daily lives, it’s hard to really be in the moment with your loved one – so put the phone down.
You and your “bae” can even make a fun game out of it.
“When it comes to connecting with someone, conversation is key,” Melissa Lopez explained, who is studying to be a marriage counselor. “You can make a game out of it such as putting the phones in the middle of the table and whoever picks up their phone first pays for the bill.”
Whatever your plans are, we hope that these tips and tricks help give you ideas on how to make this Valentine’s Day extra special.
