On average 1,350 Fullerton College students transfer annually to UC, CSU or regionally accredited California universities and out-of-state universities.
According to FC Student Services, this year, approximately 2,000 students will be transferring from Fullerton College.
“We want to see the students succeed,” Cecilia Arriaza, director of Transfer Center, explained. “It always feels good when a student comes into the center to let us know they got accepted to their top-choice school.”
FC sends approximately 85-90 percent of its transfer students to California State University campuses.
The top CSU’s in terms of numbers of FC transfers are CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach and Cal Poly Pomona.
For statewide universities, the top UC’s FC transfers attend are UC Irvine, UC Los Angeles, UC Riverside and UC Berkeley.
The Cadena Transfer Center has counselors for all FC students who are looking into finding a transfer pathway, offering a variety of workshops that will help you step-by-step in a student’s transfer process.
“I love the counselors in the Transfer Center. They are always there to answer my questions,” said Ariel Macintyre, a 2017 FC transfer student, “They really make the whole transfer smooth, and made sure I took the right classes so that I can continue my education to Cal State Fullerton.”
The Cadena Center recognizes that applying for schools and choosing the right major for students can be a difficult thing to do alone. That’s why they are committed to helping the students at Fullerton make moves to their futures.
The Cadena Center will also be hosting a Transfer Student Celebration on Friday, May 26 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Fullerton College Dining Hall.
The Hornet staff would like to congratulate all of Fullerton College’s 2017 transfer students.
