Fullerton College’s UMOJA club will host Hard Knocks, the Juco Life on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 5:30 p.m. in room 513. The event will follow a series of topics about life as a college athlete.
With the amount of student athletes at Fullerton College, this meeting will help give knowledge to athletes as they transition to college since a lot of them are first time students.
“What [we] really wanted to do was to be able to get student athletes together to talk about things that are going on off the field and outside of the classroom, so kind of like looking out for their personal developments,” said UMOJA Project Manager Antonio Banks.
Each meeting will feature a different speaker, this week’s being Jennifer Merchant from the Career and Life Planning Center who will offer tools and resources that they have to help the students succeed.
“They are athletes, but student first and we are trying to integrate them more into the campus and life after,” said Banks.
