Fullerton College’s Veterans Resource Center is hosting a care package drive for veterans through Thursday, Nov. 16.
These care packages will be provide troops to get them necessities that they do not always have access to.
Former U.S. marine and representative of the Veterans Resource Center, Sherry Pope, said baby wipes, beef jerky, protein bars, lip balm and chewing gum are some essential items that troops would deeply appreciate.
Fullerton College has been holding this care package drive for about five years now.
This event usually occurs around Veterans Day and is only held once a year.
In order to send the care packages out, the Veterans Resource Center holds a packing party at school and then ships them out with money they have raised and donations that were sent in.
Written letters are also a way to life the spirits of deployed troops, especially since the holidays are right around the corner.
November 16 will be the last day to send in donations.
