Review: Monkey Business Cafe keeps it simple with wholesome food

Monkey Business Cafe offers a wide variety of homestyle breakfast and lunch dishes in the Fullerton community.

Located down the street from Fullerton College, the bright green building with a monkey logo is easy to spot on the corner of E Amerige Ave. and Lemon St.

As soon as you walk in you can feel that the restaurant is nice and cozy, with wooden floors and dinner tables. The cafe is surrounded by plants and their walls are full of art portraits. They play mellow music so the ambient is very tranquil.

Their menu has many breakfast options from eggs dishes, to waffles, pancakes and biscuits & gravy. They also have a lunch part that has soups, sandwiches and burgers.

Their popular breakfast dish is the Berries & Cream Waffle. It is a homemade waffle stacked in two and are soft and fluffy. It is a delicious combination with the house berries, homemade whipped cream, lemon crème fraiche and powdered sugar on top.

The So-Cal breakfast burrito is another popular dish at the Monkey Business Cafe. It comes with scrambled eggs, Monterrey jack cheese, bacon and avocado.

It is served with a mild fresh salsa on the side that compliments the burrito. The burrito is big and put together well so it doesn’t fall apart.

They also offer a variety of hot and iced lattes. The chai tea latte was good and has a rich taste with froth and cinnamon on top.
