On Saturday, June 22, 2024 the day of the concert finally arrived. After what felt like an eternity, I was thrilled to finally attend a dream concert. Upon arriving at the Honda Center an hour before the concert started, by looking around it looked like it was going to be a potential sold-out show, and it was.
Intocable’s publicist, Meyber Santos, and the lead singer of the band, Ricardo Muñoz, thoroughly read my previous article, “Hay que hablar de México: The Rise and Influence of Intocable,” and were both touched by it. Not only did they gift me tickets, but also a bouquet of flowers with a note of gratification from the Intocable team.
I had no idea where I would be seated, but it didn’t matter because the experience and interaction with the team was already a great one.
I opened the envelope with the tickets and read that they were third row floor seats. I was shocked because it’s not what I expected but it was truly that and more. At 8:30 pm the concert had finally started and started out with a bang.
Suddenly the lights went off, the members of Intocable started playing and the crowd went wild. The entire arena began to scream and sing from the moment they performed. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and the energy was incredible.
The band felt shocked watching the crowd’s reaction, but were not surprised because the lead singer Ricardo Muñoz expressed that everytime they come to Anaheim they are received with lots of love and energy.
The concert gave me a sense of nostalgia, memories of the group’s songs always playing in the background of my house, by my sister in her room. Now they were in front of me performing their hit songs for two hours. The songs they sang filled me with many emotions.
Familiar songs that I grew up listening to were performed. Some of these songs brought back memories that reminded me of high and low moments of my life. In the end, they all brought excitement to the moment.
In the middle of the concert when they sang their most iconic songs like “Fuerte No Soy” and “Y Todo Para Que,” the whole arena got up from their seats and sang with full volume. At one point during the concert, the spot light turned towards the crowd and you can see the flash on peoples phones as they sang word by word.
It was truly magical to be a part of that moment and witness firsthand. From beginning to end people were standing up from their seats until they sang their last song. But once they finished the concert, the crowd requested an encore.
So after what felt like about two minutes, the lights turned back on and continued to deliver what the crowd asked for, more music. The look on the musicians’ faces were in awe of the crowd and the crowd in awe of them.
I was given the opportunity to finally experience my dream concert.. The experience didn’t disappoint and was worth the 18 years of anticipation.
A big thank you to Intocable and the members of the group for reading my article about their 30 year career and for the positive feedback I received. As well as for their publicist Meyber Santos for helping in giving me this once in a lifetime experience.
