The Hornets tied 2-2 in a seesaw, non-conference match at home against the Cerritos Falcons on Friday afternoon. Sophomore forward Danielle Narmi scored the first goal less than a minute into the match.

The two teams fought back and forth for more than 40 minutes before the Falcons answered with their first goal, knocked in by Samara Gonzalez.

With 11 minutes left in the game, freshman forward Amyhra Umar gave the Hornets a 2-1 lead at the 79-minute mark.

On the brink of securing their first win of the second, Fullerton conceded the equalizer with 2 minutes to go in regulation, scored by the Falcons freshman midfielder Jenna Santos.

“I thought we dominated the game,” said FC women’s soccer coach Pam Lewin. “We made a couple of mistakes, and they capitalized on it.”

Lewin looks forward to having her team create more scoring opportunities in their first home conference game on Oct. 1 against Cypress College at 3 p.m.
