Earlier this September, Inside Fullerton announced an art contest opportunity for Fullerton College artists to have their work featured on the Winter 2024 issue. After carefully looking through a number of submissions, the Inside Fullerton editors decided on “You See Me” by Delia Arvizu.
Artist’s Note:
“This piece reflects my dedication and vision as an artist. Art is my language; it allows me to express images and emotions I can’t always put into words. Each piece I create is a part of me, and You See Me was no different—it took a week to complete, every detail carefully chosen and crafted. I’m deeply intentional with colors, selecting each shade to communicate what words cannot. I’m a 19-year-old artist with a passion for abstract art, captivated by radiant, powerful colors. Growing up, I often struggled to speak openly about my feelings, but art became my voice. Each stroke, each hue speaks for me, capturing what I felt but couldn’t say.
Currently, I am in my first year at Fullerton College, majoring in biology with aspirations of becoming a psychiatrist. My journey is just beginning, and I look forward to the ways art will continue to influence my path. You can find more of my work on Instagram @eroticdels, where I share the world through my creative lens under the name Dels Margo.”
Thank you for all your submissions this semester! We plan on reintroducing another art feature opportunity in the spring, so stay tuned and follow us on Instagram (@insidefullerton) to stay in the know!
