Earlier this semester, Inside Fullerton announced an art contest opportunity for Fullerton College artists to have their work featured on the Summer 2025 issue. After carefully looking through a number of submissions, the Inside Fullerton editors decided on “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako” by Reann Wenceslao.
Artist Note:
Hi all! My name is Reann Wenceslao. I am 24 years old and I went to FC from 2018 to 2022 to get my Associates in Studio Art. I graduated from the BFA Illustration program at CSULB in fall 2024, but this semester I am back at FC to take more art classes and continue my artistic journey and progress. This piece is all about nostalgia and familial love and discusses the topic of how a child is heavily impacted in their developmental years. This is mainly inspired by the relationship I had with my parents as a child and wanted to depict what my early memories felt like growing up in the Philippines before moving to the U.S. This is the left panel (in print) of the diptych and stands on a 30-feet wide by 40-feet tall canvas. The medium used is entirely of acrylic paint and was finished in early 2025.

Thank you for all your submissions this semester! We plan on reintroducing another art feature opportunity in the fall, so stay tuned and follow us on Instagram (@insidefullerton) to stay in the know!
