Kicking off the night of the highly anticipated Good Guys and a Girl line up at the House of Blues Anaheim on Feb. 28 was the talented Rachel Platten.
Stepping on stage with her drummer, she blew the crowd away with her powerful voice. Singing original songs and even covering the popular Ed Sheeran song, “Thinking Out Loud” she piqued the interest of the eager crowd.
Paradise Fears played the second set of the night, walking on stage to the “Parks and Recreation” theme song. This band was full of energy from start to finish.
Sam Miller, lead singer jumped into the photo pit and hand picked a fan in the front row to include in their song. Recording her saying her name and randomly mixing it into songs throughout the night really got the whole crowd laughing.
This six piece band kept the crowd engaged in their own performance while getting them excited for the next group that was coming up.
The X Factor season three winners Alex & Sierra kept up the momentum of the previous acts. This extremely talented singing duo were entrancing to watch. Their voices complemented each other beautifully.
Alex played the guitar while Sierra played the keyboard and tambourine.
Their set not only included original songs but they also included a mash up of covers that they battled their way to the winning spot on The X Factor. Bringing back memories and making the night a little nostalgic for their fans in the crowd.
Andy Grammer took the stage last to a packed house that showed a lot of energy. When he performed his hit song, “Keep Your Head Up” the whole crowd was dancing along to his performance. Grammer and his band had a huge stage presence, interacting with the crowd on the floor and included the fans on the balcony.
Grammer shared the spotlight with his band in a lot of the songs. The highlight of his set was when he performed his song “Holding Out.”
Each band member came up to the center mic to record their very own contribution to the song that would continuously play on the beat. Grammer himself broke out a trumpet, adding a marching band feel to the music.
The Good Guys & a Girl tour ends in Los Angeles on April 3 at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip.
