With flooding caused by the recent rains, Fullerton native and world champion jet skier, Mark Gomez took his passion to the streets.
Gomez, 24, and his friend pulled our his jet ski and a GoPro camera and went for a ride up the side of a semi-flooded North Yale Avenue. The video showing Gomez riding one of his jet skis up the street went viral and has received over 2.5 million views.
While he thought it might get some views, the son of Fullerton’s Patty’s Cakes Bakery owner Patty Gomez, didn’t expect to get the attention that he did. The experienced watercraft stuntman has posted of of his trick videos in the past, but nothing generated so much attention as the ride up Yale. Interviews with various media outlets followed the posting of the video, which continued to increase the views of his video.
More rains are expected this weekend, but Gomez said he’s just focusing on getting ready for his upcoming competitions…..but you never know.
