Students receiving the Board of Governors Fee Waiver will have to meet academic and progress standards to remain eligible for the program starting fall 2016, the Financial Aid Office announced Tuesday.
A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, and a cumulative completion of at least 50 percent of coursework will be required by the program.
Any student who fails to meet these requirements two semesters in a row may lose his or her eligibility, the Office said.
The Financial Aid Office will contact students in danger of losing eligibility and place them on academic and/or progress probation.
Students who wish to regain eligibility will have three options:
- Improve their GPA and course completion to meet academic and progress standards.
- Do not attend classes within the NOCCCD for two primary semesters.
- Appeal.
These changes will be effective starting fall 2016. Students whose eligibility might be affected will be contacted 30 days after spring 2016 ends, the Office said.
