Local Orange County Guitarist Kid Ramos and Mickey Mouse served as the Grand Marshal at the 91st annual Anaheim Halloween Parade Saturday Oct. 24.
Anaheim residents gathered along the two mile parade route for the annual event that was followed by food and carnival rides.
Spectators prepared for the parade and placed their chairs along the parade route early in the morning. Anaheim Resident Saida Reyes shared her excitement for the parade.
“We are lucky to have the parade march literally in front of our house,” Reyes said. “So I invited all my family to my house for a barbecue and costume party. This is my favorite event of the year. My family and I can enjoy it and have some good old family time.”
An hour before the parade began, the streets were filled with spectators ready to watch the parade.
Local schools, Anaheim Girl Scouts and many community organizations participated in the parade.
After the parade, the floats were displayed at the Anaheim Packing District where people had the opportunity to get a close up of all the floats.
Long time Anaheim resident Eileen Chase loved the parade and also shared what she missed about the previous parades.
“Every year the parades keep getting better and better. I loved that they have the parade at night rather than at noon like they have in the past,” Chase said. “I was just hoping to see more marching bands. There were only two. I think marching bands are the best things on a parade.”
The halloween parade will step off again next year. The official date has not been announced.
