After a protracted board of trustee race that stalled the decision making process, the NOCCCD board has named Dr. Cheryl Marshall as its new chancellor.
The decision came after the board had put out a second calling for candidates to apply to fill the position that Interim Chancellor Fred Williams has held through since Dr Ned Doffney vacated the position.
Trustee President Barbara Dunsheath sent the announcement to all NOCCCD staff Tuesday Feb. 16 at just after 4 p.m.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Cheryl Marshall has accepted the Board’s offer to serve as the next Chancellor of the North Orange County Community College District. The Board will formally approve Dr. Marshall’s appointment at its regular meeting on February 23rd, and she will assume her duties as Chancellor effective July 1, 2016,” Dunsheath stand in her email.
