The mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, which aired Sunday Feb. 14th, was one of the most action-packed episodes to date and left viewers having a very bloody Valentine’s Day.
Fans may have been disappointed with where the mid-season finale left off; Rick’s gang, both new members and old, were left in danger but alive between the walls of Alexandria.
Immediately after, these walls that had protected the residents of Alexandria for so long, came crashing down due to a recent attack by a savage group of people known as “The Wolves”. It soon became clear that they needed to take back their town.
With no other option but to move forward, Rick, Carl, Michonne and the others covered themselves in walker blood to be able to move among the walkers.
At the edge of our seat we see the group bump bones with the walkers as they try to run to safety.
The Directors and Producers of the show are know for taking the lives of even the most important characters, and this episode was no exception.
The fight between Ron, Carl and Rick rages on and eventually becomes fatal. This causes the group to redirect their mission to getting to the infirmary.
Morgan continues to have conflict within himself. He wants so desperately to change the way the Wolf is just as Eastman once changed him. Save the Wolf or save the others?
Glenn channels his inner father figure as he encourages Enid to honor her parents by continuing to fight. Being one of the luckiest characters on television, Glenn is finally reunited with Maggie thanks to the help of Enid.
This episode leaves us wanting more. We are left with unanswered questions. Who is Neegan? Did the Wolf change? What are they going to do now? By the end of the episode we are left with an overwhelming feeling of both pride for the residents of Alexandria and sadness for Rick and his group.
With a baby on the way, a new romance brewing and a new gang in town, there are only guesses as to where this season will take us, and we can already tell it is going to be one bloody ride.
The directors and producers waste no time as the show returns and ignite our inner zombie obsession once more. The Walking Dead airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. on AMC.
