The Auto Show showcased over 600 of the newest cars and SUV’s hitting the local dealerships for the new year.
Over 35 car manufactures were at the event to show off their company’s newest model of line cars for the public’s viewing.
Some car manufactures that were at this event ranged from Ford and Honda, to McLaren and Lamborghini.
This event also featured an “exotic gallery” specific to exotic cars from around the world such as Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The showroom for this event is approximately 14 football fields in length and is one of the biggest showrooms in Orange County.
As big as the showroom is, there is plenty of room for test driving all the brand new cars within the facility.
This years biggest test driving facility is “Camp Jeep” which is inside the showroom and showcases the durability of Jeep’s brand new vehicles.
“Camp Jeep is an interactive adventure zone where professional 4×4 drivers allow riders to experience a Jeep’s on and off-road capabilities,” a brief statement about the event from the OC Auto Show’s website.
Camp Jeep’s test driving obstacle course also included 18-foot high, 35 degree hill where Jeep’s were tested on their durability on the course.
As well as Camp Jeep, the Orange County Auto Show also featured over 100 plus vehicles for the public to test drive.
The event also showcased some brand new electric and eco-friendly cars from Kia Motor Sports and BMW.
Kia Motor Sports unveiled their brand new 2016 Kia Soul EV which is an electric car with an EPA estimated 93 miles per charge on the battery life.
The Kia Soul EV also comes with the 27kWh lithium ion battery that’s supposed to save an estimated half the cost of gasoline, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
BMW also rolled out their highly anticipated version of an electric car.
The 2017 BMW i3 is a with a range extended electric car that has a similar body style to the 2016 Fiat 500.
The i3 packs a punch for its size at 170 hp and can get 80 to 114 miles on a single charge of the battery pack.
As well as having some of the brand new electric cars, the Orange County International Auto Show also showcased more practical vehicles for commercial use.
The SoCal Work Truck and Van Show also had a section of the showroom to showcase brand new 2017 models of various types of commercial vehicles.
This section of the Auto show had 2017 models of trucks and vans from Chevrolet and Ram to Ford and Isuzu.
Chevrolet rolled out their newest 2017 truck lines such as the Silverado and Colorado.
The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado boasts a 420hp range with a 12,500 pound towing capacity.
Chevrolet also heavily emphasized the built in 4G LTE Wi-Fi as a mean of attracting consumers who heavily rely on their electronics for working purposes.
Ford also showcased their brand new 2017 F-450 Super Duty truck.
This truck is geared to consumers that are in the line of construction work or transporting heavy items such as cargo and other vehicles.
Ford’s F-450 Super Duty truck has a whopping maximum towing 32,500 pounds, which beats its previous model’s towing capacity by 1,300 pounds.
The Auto Show had a huge selection of vehicle manufactures who produce vehicles for the everyday driver.
Honda dished out their brand new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback, that is sure to catch the attention of first time car buyers.
The Civic Hatchback has a 21 mpg in the city and an EPA estimated 42 mpg on the highway with a 10.6 gallon fuel tank.
Honda’s Civic Hatchback is sure to resonate with college students and any first time buyers due to its great gas mileage and affordable price.
The event also had various types of food trucks located outside the convention center, as well as a meet-and-greet with the Los Angeles Laker Girls on Saturday Oct. 8.
The Orange County International Auto Show gave consumers who are looking to buy some of the newest vehicles a chance to see them.
