A Day of Authors takes place at CSUF’s Titan Student Center on March 21, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, the opportunity to purchase the authors’ books and have them signed.
Popular “Longmire” TV series author, Craig Allen Johnson and award-winning author Julia Glass, are the featured main speakers.
“I see life as increasingly complex, vivid, colorful, crazy and chaotic. That’s the world I write about, the world I live in,” Glass said.
Winner of the 2002 National Book Award for “Three Junes,” her latest novel, “And the Dark Sacred Night“ is “A masterful exploration of the secret places of the human heart,” according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Sponsored by the Assistance League Professional Humanitarian Auxiliary-Fullerton (ALPHA), this event will feature Maggie Shipstead, author of “Astonish Me,” which Booklist raves as “a supple, daring and vivid portrait of desire and betrayal.”
Héctor Tobar, who wrote the incredible story of 33 trapped miners is a riveting, emotionally textured account of a real-life event.
The event will also feature authors April Smith, Susan Vreeland, Salina Yoon and Gabrielle Zevin in breakout sessions available to the more than 550 guests.
Supporting many local groups in the Northern Orange County area, including St. Jude’s Tiny Togs program, Operation School Bell and Special Families-Emergency Needs, this event is ALPHA’s primary fundraiser for the year; raising funds for families in need.
