Get ready to see William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” reimagined. The Fullerton Theatre Department begins its run with this Fall classic on Oct. 8.

But don’t expect to be bored with Elizabethan talk. Tim Espinosa, director of the play, envisioned a circus world making it playful and entertaining.

“The great thing about Shakespeare is that you can adapt it to any time period,” Espinosa explained.

The “Twelfth Night” is set in the kingdom of Illyria where a love triangle is central to the plot of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy.

Clowns or fools are common characters in Shakespearean works and there’s no exception in “Twelfth Night” with Feste and his musical talents.

Illyria will be seen through his eyes so expect tons of physical elements like clowns jumping and swinging around. Espinosa’s adaptation of the play has Feste the clown as the star character.

Theatre students will showcase their talents with beautiful sets, costumes and, of course, great acting. Fullerton theatre students and faculty are dedicating many hours to make this an amazing show.

The band Feste will play their original music live during the show.

“O, had I but followed the arts!” Shakespeare wrote.

All shows start at 7 p.m. at the Fullerton College Campus Theatre and tickets can be purchased at the Fullerton College Box Office. Presale tickets are $12.50 and $15 at the door.
