The color festival was an ancient Hindu celebration of life and love. Now the festival travels worldwide celebrating the welcoming of spring and togetherness.
The festival invoked positive vibes and a common energy by providing upbeat music and a variety of activities including dance, yoga and inspirational speakers.
“The festival brings all walks of life to gather and celebrate one idea,” Milani said. “It doesn’t center on the Holi religion but rather on focusing on the positive vibes and recognizing and ridding of any negativity we feel leading into spring.”
Director of the festival, Caru Das Adhikari welcomed all attendees with welcome arms. Literally. Caru stood on stage and invited people in the crowd to hug a stranger. “We are all one,” he said. “We all came in numbers and leave today as one.”
