FC to host their third annual Ethnic Studies Summit drag show

Fullerton College’s third annual drag show will take place Saturday, Oct. 14, in the Wilshire Auditorium from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It will be the closing part of the second day of the Ethnic Studies Summit which starts at 11 a.m.

“[It’s about] being able to express yourself freely. Free from judgement, free from harm. To be your authentic self,” said Amber Rose Gonzalez, FC ethnic studies professor and one of the event’s planners.

A La Drag, a featured panel regarding gender, performance and drag culture will take place before the drag show from 5:20 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.

Author, blogger and CSUF graduate student Michael Paramo is one of the panel speakers who will present on gender and sexuality.

Vander Von Odd, whom identifies as a filmmaker by day and femme fatale by night, will host the show.

It was reported that there are seven confirmed performers so far.

Two of the confirmed performers and panelists are show are White Horse Bar director and promoter at House of Valentino, Cemora Valentino-Divine and FC ethnic studies professor Arnetta Smith, who will moonlight as King McQueen.

Everyone is invited to attend the free show.
