A pilot died after a plane crashed and burst into flames shortly after takeoff from the Fullerton Municipal Airport Thursday evening, authorities said.
Fullerton Fire Department arrived at the fiery crash site, after reports of a blaze around 7:50 p.m., at 4011 W Commonwealth Ave., officials said.
The aircraft was a twin-engine six seater plane that apparently was said to be taking off for Utah.
The plane was traveling 50 feet above the ground at a speed of about 80 mph, when witnesses said it took a sharp left turn that forced It to impact the ground, immediately causing a blaze upon the tarmac of the airport.

All that is known about the pilot currently is that he was a male around 50 years of age.
The crash is still under investigation.
