Slidebar Rock-N-Roll Kitchen celebrated the release of “They Must Be Destroyed,” a new CD from local band Fake Figures. The restaurant hosted a free show on Saturday night for fans.

The band from Orange County was formed in 2011. The band is made up of vocals Rus Martin, Travis Miguel who plays the guitar and is a member of Atreyu, Heather Baker who also plays the guitar, Bob Bradley who plays the bass and Steve Ludwig who plays the drums.

They were accompanied by Assuming We Survive, Werewolf Congress and Black Velvet Brigade.

Fake Figures new album is mix of a genres which include punk, hardcore and alternative.

“I’m really excited to hear them perform their new music,” said Juan Corona, 21, “This is my first time seeing them live so I’m stoked.”

The album was produced by Saosin guitarist Beau Burchell. It took the band a mere six months to write and record it. Guitarist Heather Baker also contributed to the writing of the CD.

The members of Fake Figures really know how to put on a show. They made sure to get everyone up on their feet. People were even standing on top of tables in order to get a good view of them.

“I’m really happy and honored I get to be a part of this and I thank Fake Figures for inviting us to perform with them,” said Adrian Estrella, vocalist of Assuming We Survive.

Their next show is on April 9 at the Blacklight District in Long Beach.
