Noises Off opening night

By Nolwen Soza

Play productions can take months of preparation. Those months include set-building, painting, hair and make-up execution, wardrobe fitting and rehearsing lines. Opening night is when everything comes together. All those long hours spent rehearsing are presented on the stage by the cast, director and stage crew members.

“Noises Off,” directed by Chuck Ketter had opening night on Thursday, March 6. Opening night consisted of a full house. The audience waited patiently for the show to begin. Once the show began, there was not a single person with a straight face. The audience was laughing during the show and during intermission, people were conversing about the show.

At the end of the show, all of the cast members came on stage and took a bow. The loud applause filled the whole auditorium.

“I was confused in the beginning but as the show went on, I finally understood what was going on,” said Kassandra Espericueta, Fullerton College student. “The show was so hilarious, I almost cried the whole time. My favorite scene was all of Act II.”

According to Jesus Mendoza, he really enjoyed the show said it very funny and entertaining. His favorite scene is at the very beginning of the show.

The cast and crew celebrated their triumph in completing the first night of the show and were greeted by many family and friends. The cast received many hugs an flowers from loved ones congratulating them on a job well done.

“I thought the show went very well considering the cast had not had an audience at all until today,” mentions Chuck Ketter.
