Fullerton Joint Union High School District has shut down schools starting Mar. 16, and began online classes. The district has then informed us that their schools will not open until May 11. The schools are now on dismissal status until remainder of the school year.

There are many students who are not as lucky as other students to have the internet access they need to do their homework and some do not have computer access at home. Luckily, Fullerton Joint Union High School District has thought about that so they have provided free chrome books to every student since classes will start being taught remotely.

For those unfortunate students with no internet access Fullerton Joint Union High School has provided free low – cost home internet access. This free internet offer gives many students access to the internet. This offer lasts up to 60 days after that they suggest students or parents to cancel the service because they begin to charge after that.

Fullerton Joint Union High School District not only is giving students homework and classwork online but they are also letting students do hands-on activities as well. Teachers have been given instructions to give distance learning, book activities and art activities to their students since they will not be in a classroom.

Aside from that, some students do face bigger obstacles. Many students are very dependent on the food that is given during schoolhouse and now are unable to receive food elsewhere.

Fullerton Joint Union High School District has given students an opportunity to get free breakfast and lunch at local schools nearby. Lunch and breakfast are available to children up to the age of 18 from the times 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the weekdays from Monday through Friday.

Fullerton Joint Union High School has a food and community resources page as well for those interested in donating. Starting Monday through Thursday Fullerton Joint High School District has given the opportunity for those who want to donate. Donations will be accepted on Pacific Drive and district office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
