Due to COVID-19, Girl Scout cookie sales are going digital this year through their website, mobile app, and accounts on funding websites made by Troops. Pre-sales are also available on Grubhub in some areas. Booths will be scarce this cookie season as the decision is up to the Troop leaders and city guidelines.

On the Girl Scouts website, there is an option to type in a zip code in order to find the nearest cookie seller to any given area. They also have an app that can be downloaded on Apple and Android products. While customers won’t be able to find cookie booths near you this year, these two options will show if they are eligible for GrubHub to deliver the these treats right to their doorstep.

Troop 11784 is from the Whittier area and have set up their own online market, which allows you to purchase from the troop. They will then deliver right to the customer’s doorstep once the item is ready to go.

Despite the pandemic’s halt to in-person booths and purchases, many are still looking forward to getting their cookies as soon as possible.

“There is no way you can stop me from getting my cookies!,” Glen Jimenez, a cookie enthusiast and previous cookie seller, exclaimed. “It’s hard enough for those girls to meet sale goals without a pandemic, let alone in one! So I am helping by buying as many cookies as I can and telling people about where to find them.”

There is also a new cookie flavor called “Toast-Yay,” which is made with the taste of French Toast and is formed to a bread-like shape. This unique cookie will be available to purchase online and the classic flavors, such as “Thin Mints” and more.

While this year will be different Girl Scouts troops and cookie lovers around the nation, there is no stopping those girls from getting those delectable goodies to their communities.
