Odesza, the popular DJ duo from Seattle, sold out their show for April 9 at The Glass House in nearly fifteen minutes when the tickets first went on sale.
The crowd’s anticipation was palpable as the minutes slowly passed by after opener Robert Delong’s set. The intensity immediately magnified as the lights dropped in preparation for Odesza’s entrance and the crowd roared. The moment they hit the stage you could feel the long-awaited excitement burst out from the fans.
They began the show with “iPlayYouListen” from their debut LP “Summer’s Gone” and continued on to deliver an incredible show. Their electronic synths become melodically addicting and kept the fans dancing. They had trumpeters join them on stage for a few songs as Odesza banged away on live drums giving a more authentic experience.
Odesza brought out a few guests including Shy Girls, who performed “All We Need” and Zyra for an encore of their popular hit, “Say My Name” from their latest album “In Return.” Fans tried to capture unforgettable moments on their phones as they recorded away hoping to never forget the feeling of that exact moment.
It’s truly something indescribable to witness Odesza play their refreshing music with live instruments in front of an enthusiastic crowd. One couldn’t deny the energy throughout the venue from beginning to end and it was easy to see why. In a world of EDM music, Odesza brings a sweeter flavor to electronic palates as they produce more unique sounds than EDM fans are used to. Their euphorically sounding albums prove why they continue to increase their fan base at a ridiculous rate.
Odesza should be on a must-see list because this Seattle-based duo is only going to get bigger and rightly so.
