Hot off the press! The Pizza Press now open in Fullerton

Just less than two miles away from Fullerton College and right across the street from Cal State Fullerton, lives a hot new pizza place that students and residents alike can enjoy.

When customers step into The Pizza Press, they are instantly greeted by the employees, who are known as “publishing editors,” with big smiles and clever theme phrasing.

“Hi, welcome to The Pizza Press! Would you like to publish your own pizza today?” asked publishing editor, Jaylen.

Decked out with their newsboy caps, the editors were friendly to everyone who walked in–especially once the line went out the door during the lunch time rush.

Part of the interior decor are photos of an old printing press and news publication outlets. Even the menu itself is well-themed to all things newsworthy.

“The Tribune” features a red sauce base, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onion, mushroom, roasted peppers, olives and ricotta–creating a rich, delicious savory flavor.

Another menu item, “The Sun,” is made up of red sauce, mozzarella, ham, bacon, cheddar, pineapple, grape tomatoes, and green onion.

There’s also an item called the “Editor’s Quarterly Pizza” which will feature special seasonal pizzas throughout the year, though none are available at this location just yet.

However, one of the best items on the menu is being able to “publish your own pizza” by choosing what sauce base, cheese, meat, fresh seasonal vegetables, and finishers (such as pesto sauce, Sriracha, cilantro, and ranch) to satisfy your hunger.

All pizzas are 10 inches and only take about five minutes to bake; also, there is “The Jr. Editor” for kids nine and under that includes a 6-inch pizza, fresh baked cookie, and a fountain drink.

As part of their “Grab & Go” menu, they have ready-made garlic cheesy bread, pasta salad, Caesar salads, fruit and yogurt parfaits, fresh seasonal food, as well as a “publish your own salad” option, too.

The Pizza Press even has a wide variety of beers on tap to choose from.

Overall, the press-themed environment, the fresh ingredients, and the friendly staff make this place a wonderful dining experience in comparison to other “build your own pizza” restaurants around the area.

To promote the grand opening of The Pizza Press, students from Fullerton College and CSUF will receive 15 percent off their purchase until the end of the year with a student I.D., (after that it will be 10 percent off).
