Food, good music and beer filled the winding streets of the famous Orange Circle this weekend at the annual International Street Fair.

For one weekend every year historic downtown Orange is transformed into an international taste test with specialty foods ranging from Japanese Teriyaki chicken to German Bratwurst.

Abby and Michael Stevens were returning for their second time to the Fair. Like many, they were excited to take their taste buds on a trip down the streets of the Circle.

With the roadways leading into downtown closed, thousands of people intermingled with one another as the scent of funnel cake and meatballs filled the air.

Tented vendors lined the roads of the Circle. Although food and beer were the main attractions, small businesses, activist groups and organizations such as the Marine Corps and the Knights of Columbus, all shared in the festivities.

Two main stages where different musical acts performed anchored the fair, however there were smaller stages that housed groups as diverse as the event itself. Irish punk, electric dance music and mariachi all could be heard above the babble of the crowds.

The Fair was open Friday from 5 PM to 10 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 10PM.

Ian, a Fullerton College student, returned to the fair with his friends for their fifth consecutive time. The big draw for them? “The beer!”

As Labor Day Weekend came to close, so did the Fair. The Orange Circle was reopened and resumed regular business operations.

Job well done. Makes me want to get in the car and come to that. I have never been. Next year.
