Car crash on Berkeley

A minivan parked on the right side of the road was being assisted by a man with a Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled over in the bike lane. A Honda Odyssey raced down Berkeley completely unaware of the Jeep and crashed into the driver’s back corner.

The man and woman who owned the two cars that had pulled over, thinking they out of the way were knocked to the ground from the impact.

The collision was strong enough for the Honda to tip on its driver’s side and the airbags to erupt.

The Jeeps’ back left tire also popped during the collision.

Fullerton Police and Fire Department and ambulance rushed to the scene after the crash occurred.

One of Fullerton College’s head athletic trainers, Lorena Tarnay, also fled to the scene with her team by her side.

“The woman in the Honda face was bleeding due to the impact of the airbags,” Tarnay said. “The man that owned the Jeep suffered from a minor whip lash, but everyone is okay for the most part.”

The incident interrupted the Hornet’s women soccer game late in the second half and was ended eight minutes early because of it.

Many spectators including the players and coaching staff were startled by the sound of the collision and the tipping over of the Honda as it was clearly visible from the field.
