Parents and students waited anxiously to see “Musicians at Work,” a show presented by FC’s music department and featured the Chamber singers and College Concert choir.

The audience pointed out the lights and all of the smoke coming from the stage which created a pleasant atmosphere. Everyone seemed surprised when the performers came running from both sides of the auditorium to welcome the audience. It seemed to get everyone pumped up for an exciting show.

The choir began the concert with a different version of “Home on the Range.” An American folk song that didn’t seem to be something the audience wanted to hear, but they were in for a surprise. The choir began to vocalize and harmonize a different tune. The audience was captivated by how perfectly in sync the choir was.

After the choir sang, there were a few solos and duets ranging from love songs to gospel.

Brianna Krupiarz brought the house down with laughter when she sang “15 lbs,” a song about how an overweight woman doesn’t always have the advantage on getting a decent guy. Krupiarz cleverly sang the song and made the audience roar with laughter.

“I loved every song that was sung, especially the ones that were different than songs I’m used to listening at these concerts,” said Damonte Watson, Theater major. “It’s hard to pick a favorite, they all did such a good job!”

When Alexander Tupuola sang “Fever,” it was a song that really stood out that night, the song had a sexy rhythm to it. “I wanted to do something different and I feel that we should do fun, different music,” Tupuola said. “I know I did a good job at impressing the ladies.”

There were many great songs from talented singers that night and one included a great hit that caught the attention of the audience, The Concert choir’s version of “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson.

The choir was not as comparable as the original but they did a great job in capturing the tune and bringing back some memories of the deceased pop star. While the performance was different from the original, it still managed to capture the audience’s attention.

“We practiced more than 50 hours since the semester started to make sure we were prepared for the concert,” said Jean-Claude Mouannes, Theater major. “I am really happy with the outcome of tonight.”

The concert ended with a few gospels which made some of the audience members eager for wrap up. The halls were filled with the singers congratulating one another and giving the audience a chance to congratulate the singers as well.

“I look forward to coming to their next events. I was unaware that they had mutilple concerts throughout the month,” said Thomas Bryson, Fullerton resident. “I was really impressed by the different voices and music that came from the choir.”

The Spring Voice Recital will be on April 27 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are: $10 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for students and seniors.
