In what was a very inconsistent season for the Hornets (25-19, 11-10) it came to an end in a flash as the team dropped both their games to Saddleback College (27-16, 12-9) in their first matchup of the day, and in an elimination game against LA Valley. Sophomore pitcher Matt Romero took the bump for the Hornets in the first game going five innings, allowing five runs, and nine hits. The high-powered offense was silenced all game, losing, 6-1. In their second matchup, it was up to the freshman pitcher Ethan Moran to hold strong and pitch a gem against a very talented LA Valley who came into the matchup with 37-6 overall record and an impressive 20-1 conference record. Moran struggled mightily going just three and a third innings, giving up 10 hits, and eight runs. The offense jumped out early giving two runs of support, but LA Valley ultimately used an explosive second and third inning to take all the momentum from the Hornets to seal their fate.
