A campus-wide air conditioning failure that began on Tuesday continued to affect several buildings until Thursday morning after a construction crew accidentally damaged a water line connected to the main campus chiller, according to Maintenance and Operations staff.
While Tuesday’s repairs restored cooling to many buildings, several areas remained without air conditioning throughout Wednesday, including the 2000 and 2100 buildings.
Officials clarified that additional buildings listed in yesterday’s campus-wide email were part of the same incident, not a separate outage. Maintenance staff reported that repairs were underway and expected to be completed yesterday, though it is unclear whether an outside HVAC vendor was brought in to assist, which may have contributed to the delay.
Measure J construction efforts have been underway at Fullerton College since 2023, as a schoolwide effort to provide campus modernization, safety improvements, and expanded learning spaces.
