An email released from Interim Chancellor Fred Williams’ office Monday morning confirmed what many FC faculty and students were hoping for.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Dr. Cheryl Marshall, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Greg Schulz has accepted the Board’s offer to serve as the next President of Fullerton College. Dr. Schulz’s appointment will be formally approved at the April 12 Board meeting,” the email stated.

According to the NOCCCD official press release, Schulz had overwhelming support from District leadership.

Another voice of confidence in Schulz’s appointment was the incoming Chancellor, Cheryl Marshall.

“Greg has earned the trust of the college community and is clearly passionate about the students we serve. I look forward to working with him as part of the senior leadership team,” Marshall said.

Schulz, a former Hornet, served as the provost for the School of Continuing Education prior to accepting the call to serve as interim president on July 1, 2015. He will be the ninth person to serve as Fullerton College’s President.

After learning of the decision, Schulz released a statement expressing his gratitude.

“I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to serve Fullerton College as President,” said Schulz.

“Fullerton College has earned an outstanding reputation for being an innovative, student-centered institution of higher learning that is committed to serving our community. I look forward to working closely with our faculty and staff to help our students thrive,” Schulz said.
