Man sent to St. Jude after police altercation at Hillcrest Park in Fullerton.

Fullerton Police were called after two unidentified men were involved in a fight at Hillcrest Park about 7:15pm, Wednesday. Neighbors in the area witnessed the two men fighting and notified authorities.

Sgt. Stuart arrived on scene first and attempted to get the intoxicated man out of the street when the man took a swing at his friend and then tried to swoop the officer’s legs.

The friend held down the man with the assistance of Sgt. Stuart until additional units arrived.

Neither man was injured in the altercation but the intoxicated man was taken by paramedics to St. Jude for observation.

“There’s probably more going on than intoxication,” Sgt. Stuart said, “that’s why we called the paramedics.”

No arrests were made.
