Although their doors will remain “physically” closed, the Health Center will continue to offer important services on an appointment basis by phone call. Due to Covid- 19, questions, care, and referral are done via telecommunication, and if necessary, a visit to the center.
Services provided range from clinical, educational, and psychological depending on student needs.
Students have access to qualified professionals, including doctors, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and psychologists.
Though many of these benefits are provided without charge, some may require a small fee. Clinical services include diagnosis/treatment of short-term illness, First Aid, medication/prescriptions, birth control, breast, and pelvic exams, and orthopedic supplies.
They also offer laboratory tests as well. These include blood, urine analysis, pregnancy tests, pap exams, STDs, and certain skin tests.
Flu shots are available at no cost to students. According to Kelly Salazar, the Health Education Coordinator, flu shots will be offered in September on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Morning and afternoon appointments are available.
On Thursday, Sept. 9, the Orange County Health Care Agency will offer Covid vaccines via the Student Health Services of Fullerton College.
Shots will be administered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.at the 200 building on the second floor. Call and set up an appointment.
Whether by phone or video call, you have access to medical professionals ready and willing to help.
The Student Health Services is also an excellent opportunity for referrals. The center specializes in short-term care. They offer recommendations for specialists, community hospitals, agencies, and psychiatric services.
The Fullerton College Health Center is there with solutions and information.
If you struggle with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, family, relationships, or need someone to talk to for counseling, call to schedule a meeting with a licensed mental health professional.
“Call us sooner rather than later to start meeting with our providers.” Salazar strongly encourages students to reach out and utilize the psychological services offered. She emphasized this by citing how expensive therapy can be elsewhere.
Therapists are readily available to assist with mental health needs. However, if you are experiencing an emergency, physical or mental, please dial 911.
Health education is available to students. Nurse practitioners are available via Zoom on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the 2, 6, and 26 of September if you have any medical-related questions.

Before Covid restrictions, students would be able to walk into the health center for minor cough drops, eye drops, or band-aids. For now, vital health needs are focused on and are accessible to students included in the health fee provided by Student Health Services.
The office is located between the North and South gym across from the 400 building. Health records and information are strictly confidential and protected by law.
