Fullerton College to allow spectators at outdoor athletic events

Fullerton College has decided to allow spectators to attend in-person sporting events for all Fall-outdoor sports.

“After careful consideration, the campus decided to follow CDC, county, and campus guidelines from now until November 1st”. Sports Information Director Phil Thurman said.

The sports reflected in the “outdoor” category are as follows: cross country, football, women’s golf, men and women’s soccer, and men and women’s water polo.

As for indoor sports, “masks will be required at all times regardless of vaccination status. Spectators will be required to maintain at least six feet of social-distancing from non-household members as well as a required temperature check for all spectators upon entrance.” Fullerton College Athletic Director Scott Giles said.

Head women’s soccer coach Pam Lewin said, “I’m so happy spectators are allowed at our games. Parents, family members, and friends can come and cheer on the team”.

In March 2020, the California Community College Athlete Association announced they were postponing spring sports indefinitely.
